The Legal Operations AVP will report to VP, Legal Operations and serve as dedicated project management and coordination resource supporting initiatives across the Legal and Chief Administrative Officer functions. This role will provide structured tracking, documentation, and cross-functional coordination for enterprise data governance efforts and other projects within the function’s project portfolio. The position ensures disciplined project execution, milestone management, policy documentation support, and consistent reporting across multiple concurrent initiatives.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, analytically strong professional with experience in project management, legal environments, data governance, and regulatory compliance frameworks. The Legal Operations AVP will play a central role in coordinating and documenting standards across the enterprise.

Essential Job Functions

Enterprise Data Governance Support

  • Support execution of the Enterprise Data Governance & Lifecycle Risk Program, including discovery and data classification initiatives.
  • Maintain structured governance dashboards tracking deletion backlogs, retention compliance, and milestone progress.
  • Coordinate cross-functional governance working sessions across Legal, IT, InfoSec, business lines and other functional areas.
  • Assist in maintaining data glossary documentation and coordinating Data Champion engagement across business units.
  • Support training materials and governance awareness initiatives.
  • Assist in integrating governance metrics into enterprise reporting structures.

Legal Operations & Project Management

  • Maintain trackers and structured reporting for concurrent legal and governance projects.
  • Design and maintain executive-level status reports and KPI dashboards, leveraging Excel, SharePoint, and reporting tools to deliver real-time visibility into governance initiatives, risk metrics, and milestone performance.
  • Coordinate communications between Legal, IT, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors, when necessary.
  • Draft and update SOPs, policy documents, and governance reference materials, ensuring alignment with privacy and retention frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, and other regulatory expectations).
  • Ensure documentation is audit-ready and centrally maintained.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 1+ years in a Senior Associate level role or external equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of data governance principles, retention policies, privacy frameworks, and lifecycle controls strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) with the ability to design complex tracking models, governance dashboards, and executive-level reporting. Demonstrated experience building structured SharePoint-based dashboards, automated trackers, and centralized governance documentation systems; familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CLM systems (e.g., Ironclad) and enterprise documentation tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment.
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information is a must.
  • Exposure to data discovery or classification tools (e.g., DSPM solutions) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and AI governance frameworks preferred.
  • Strong executive communication and reporting skills preferred.

The annual full time base salary range for this role is

$95,000.00 - $130,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
