Benefits and Wellness Specialist Job Details | Lidl

Summary

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for overall benefits administration and wellness programming. This includes handling the administration and billing for benefits-related vendors including medical, dental, vision, disability and supplemental insurance plans, as well as handling the planning and implementation of the annual wellness calendar. The Benefits Specialist reports to the Head of Benefits and Wellness.

What You’ll Do

Benefits Administration
  • Oversee and manage assigned projects and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
  • Conduct data entry and data management for various department processes including benefits enrollments, classification changes, and COBRA enrollments
  • Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
  • Manage and process claims, invoices and resolve administrative problems with vendors
  • Collaborate with external and internal partners to ensure efficient
  • Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Process monthly and annual PPACA reports and assist with annual review and auditing for 1095Cs
  • Handle benefits-related queries from internal and external stakeholders and resolve issues or discrepancies for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, H.S.A, FSA, 401(k), etc.
  • Oversee monthly premium payments and reconciliations for financial reporting
  • Provides exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality

Wellness Program Administration
  • Support the design, execution and evaluation of the annual wellness program to meet the needs of employees and business goals
  • Create communication strategies to promote and encourage participation
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant vendors to support wellness program activities
  • Plan and execute annual Benefits Fairs
  • Analyze employee data and feedback to refine and improve wellness program

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Working knowledge and understanding of PPACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, IRS Section 125 and other applicable legislations
  • Experience using ADP WFN, SAP and time/attendance systems
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory benefit compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to remain confidential and handle sensitive data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite or related software
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)
  • Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist (CCWS)
  • Experience working in the retail industry and a multi-state or large company (5,000 +)
  • Experience working with commuter benefits
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Physical Job Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • 25% travel required
