BSA/AML Analyst

Job Description:

  • Draft and file high-quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) that provide clear, concise narratives for law enforcement and regulators.
  • Perform end-to-end investigations into complex customer activity to identify potential suspicious activity, such as money laundering, identity theft, and fraud.
  • Compare Know Your Customer (KYC) information to Sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) lists to verify false and true positives.
  • Analyze transaction patterns and customer profiles to determine if activity is consistent with a customer's known occupation or business purpose.
  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to refine automated monitoring rules and reduce false positives while maintaining high detection standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging financial crime trends and regulatory changes to ensure Acorns' controls remain "game-changing" and effective.
  • Assist with internal audits and external regulatory examinations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in BSA/AML compliance, specifically within a fintech or high-volume financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect disparate data points to form a comprehensive view of customer behavior.
  • Technical proficiency with AML monitoring software and case management systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on precision and clarity in investigative reporting.
