Ready to join our quest for better?<br><br><strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><em><strong>We are seeking candidates who are CCI or ARDMS certified.<br><br></strong></em><em><strong>Hours are: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with every 4th rotating Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. <br><br></strong></em><em><strong>On-call rotation hospital requirements. <br><br></strong></em><strong>Required to work at both NM Palos Hospital and Tinley Park Outpatient Cardiac Testing.<br><br></strong>The <strong>Echo Tech CARDIOLOGY</strong> reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br><br><ul><li>Assessment/Problem Identification</li><ul><li>Perform echocardiography with Doppler studies, transesophageal echo, and stress echo procedures. </li><li>Instruct and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures. </li><li>Document patient heart rhythm and echocardiographic images accurately. </li><li>Maintain age-appropriate technical and assessment skills. </li></ul><li>Communication</li><ul><li>Inform physicians/cardiologists regarding significant conditions that require immediate attention. </li><li>Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, visitors, and staff in a friendly and cooperative manner. </li><li>Address patients’ physical and mental needs during procedures, ensuring comfort, privacy, confidentiality, and timely communication. </li></ul><li>Implementation/Intervention</li><ul><li>Set up equipment for echocardiographic procedures. </li><li>Perform calculations and measurements from M-Mode and Doppler data. </li><li>Duplicate echo tapes or reports for physicians and outside hospitals when requested. </li></ul><li>Safety</li><ul><li>Attend mandatory safety and educational in-services. </li><li>Follow hospital policies for safety and comply with department responsibilities during fire drills and emergency procedures. </li><li>Report equipment malfunctions to management and coordinate repair with Clinical Engineering or appropriate vendors. </li></ul><li>Administration</li><ul><li>Maintain availability and reliability in scheduled work, tracking attendance and punctuality. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul><li>Guest Relations</li><ul><li>Contribute to a positive work climate and support the overall team effort of the department. </li><li>Project a consistently professional image when interacting with patients, families, and external partners. </li></ul><li>Competency Validation</li><ul><li>Maintain required knowledge and skills to perform assigned responsibilities at an acceptable level, as evaluated through ongoing performance appraisals. <br></li></ul></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Required:<br><br></strong><ul><li>High School graduate/GED is required. </li><li>Completion of accredited Echo Tech program. </li><li>Will work under general supervision performing highly technical cardiology diagnostic procedures, instructs, prepares and monitors patients during testing procedures. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred:<br><br></strong><ul><li>1-2 years of Echo Tech working experience. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Additional Information<br><br></strong>Northwestern Medicine is an equal opportunity employer (disability, VETS) and does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation or any other protected status.<br><br><strong>Background Check<br><br></strong>Northwestern Medicine conducts a background check that includes criminal history on newly hired team members and, at times, internal transfers.
