As a CDM Programmer II, you will work with clinical data management systems and programming tools to provide advanced programming support in data management activities and deliverables. This includes, but is not limited to, database development, data validations, and assisting with defining tools and techniques for improving process efficiencies. You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.<br><br>What You’ll Do:<br><br>• Performs tasks following within the timelines established by the team, in accordance with the process outlined in the departmental procedures and indicated by the project contract.<br>• Designs, builds and tests project databases & edit checks with Veeva EDC and able to work on Post production changes, handling end to end study deliverables.<br>• Defines and imports data into the system.<br>• Defines, creates and tests listings for data review and performs programming activities in line with project requirements.<br>• Acts as the lead on studies of simple to moderity complexity with close supervision. Researches and leverages resources to resolve issues and manage moderately complex tasks through the development and application of new knowledge and/or professional skills in areas including programming and technology.<br>• Participates in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies.<br>• Increases knowledge and skills to gain good understanding of the lead programmer roles and overall department processes.<br>• Ensures adherence to departmental working practice documents and SOPs, and contributes to the development informal training materials.<br><br><br>Education and Experience Requirements:<br>• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification<br>• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4+ years’).<br><br>In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.<br><br>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<br>• Solid written, verbal and computer skills<br>• Solid attention to detail and problem solving skills<br>• Solid organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">challenging/conflicting</span> deadlines<br>• Basic experience in one or more programming languages or relational database systems (RDBMS) and structure<br>• Working knowledge of programming tools SAS, SQL, Crystal Reports, and JReview<br>• Demonstrated skill in identification and resolution of technical problems in a professional environment<br>• Capable of attaining, maintaining and applying a working knowledge of GCPs and applicable SOPs<br>• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary project team<br>• Demonstrated initiative and motivation<br>• Excellent project management skills, such as project budget creation, including modifying for project updates, and managing project budgets and risks<br>• Capable of interpreting and contributing to company policies<br>• Delivery and quality driven<br><br>Working Conditions and Environment:<br>• Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.<br>• Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.<br><br><br>Why Join Us?<br><br>When you join Thermo Fisher Scientific, you become part of a global team that values passion, innovation, and a commitment to scientific excellence.
