Uses medical coding software to assist in the correct capture of all billable charges included in the medical record. Identifies inconsistencies in medical reports and works with leadership and operations staff to improve charge capture and error correction.<br><br><b>Principle Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Ensures charges are captured in an appropriate and timely manner.<ul><li>Reviews, calculates, and enters charges in the electronic medical record (EMR).</li><li>Examines financial reports for accuracy edits.</li><li>Processes and completes charge entry.</li><li>Ensures charges are compliant with federal regulations.</li><li>May assist with audits.</li></ul></li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><br><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description</li><li>0 to 2 years of medical terminology experience</li></ul><p><br><b>Preferred Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Associate's or Vocational degree in business, health care, or related field</li><li>0 to 2 years of billing experience</li><li>0 to 2 years of business office experience</li></ul><p><br><b>Physical Demands</b></p><ul><li>Sedentary:</li><li>Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently</li></ul><p></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Pay Range</b></p><h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Pay Range: $20.79 to $28.31 per hour<h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range.
