Responsibilities

  • Participate in mission analysis and definition of flight software requirements.
  • Define embedded software architecture for satellite and payload systems.
  • Develop and maintain flight software functions and avionics interfaces.
  • Define telemetry databases and fault detection, isolation, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Support verification and validation of flight software in SIL and HIL environments.
  • Develop software validation plans and verification matrices.
  • Analyze software anomalies and manage bug tracking and resolution activities.
  • Support interface definition between space segment and ground segment systems.
  • Participate in program design reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR.
  • Support satellite integration and testing activities.

What You'll Need to Get the Job Done

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in embedded flight software development for aerospace or satellite systems.
  • Experience with real‑time embedded software architectures.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft avionics interfaces such as SpaceWire, CAN, Ethernet or MIL‑STD‑1553.
  • Familiarity with space software standards such as CCSDS, ECSS or PUS services.
  • Experience with simulation and validation environments for embedded software.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, ideally in English and French.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP), which requires Canadian Citizen or valid PR holder status.
