As a Decision Scientist, this role focuses on driving share growth strategies by supporting 1P and 3P category teams with data-driven insights on vendor partnerships, assortment, pricing, and customer experiences, while leading analytics projects to evaluate the interplay between 1P and 3P businesses, sales and promotional effectiveness, assortment performance, and the targeting and measurement of key growth initiatives. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you'll do Influence cross-functional teams by providing compelling data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions. Act as a trusted advisor to the business team, using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives. Present complex analytics results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear, persuasive narratives that drive action. Keep abreast of new theories, strategies and best practices in the industry and think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions, applications and strategies Basic qualifications 3 or more years of experience in retail, analytics, business, or related area 3 or more years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions 1 or more years of experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, SAS, R and/or Python Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or similar field with quantitative rigor Preferred qualifications Demonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross functional business teams/decisions Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights. Advanced stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive cross-functional collaboration.
