Director, Accounting Services Salary:

$128,851 - $151,589 - $174,328 per year (pay range explained below) Contract:

37.5 hours, 8:00am-4:00pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri) Location:

Coast Salish Territories of Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh- Metro Vancouver- Park Royal office – Hybrid (3 days in office) (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy). Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.

About The Role

As the Director, Accounting Services, you will be responsible for leading and directing the Accounting Services department for the entire FNHA including the general ledger and subsidiary records, monitoring and reporting of financial transactions, preparation of financial statements and reports and coordination of the annual external audit. The key areas for leadership and active involvement and accountability include maintaining financial systems and procedures of the organization to ensure that proper financial control is maintained, reporting requirements are met, payments and receipts are processed correctly and in a timely manner, and assets are secured and managed effectively. You will report to the Executive Director, Finance and will lead a large cross-functional department with three teams (General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll).

Additionally, you will provide strategic advice, analyses, reports, presentations, or other requests from leaders across FNHA, including, Directors, Executive Directors, the Senior Executive Team, the CEO and the Board of Directors (and its committees).

About You To be successful in this role you will have –

Education Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience, including progressively responsible leadership roles or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Occupational Certification Completion of a recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA - CA, CMA or CGA). Mandatory requirement.

Experience Minimum of eight years of relevant related experience managing the Finance operations in a unionized environment or an equivalent combination of education, training experience. Minimum of ten years of leadership experience within a Finance professional setting. Experience working with BC First Nations organizations in a financial capacity. Experienced in financial and business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, including the use of technology.

Knowledge Customer focus and ability to work with multiple stakeholders. Ability to prioritize in an environment with competing demands. Demonstrated ability to strategically and creatively solve complex problems within a dynamic and changing environment. Advanced leadership skills to lead a cross-functional team, which includes managers, supervisors, professional accountants (CPA - CA, CMA, CGA), payroll professionals (PCP) and others.

Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
