About the position

The Director of Digital Banking is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and leading the execution of a strategy that brings to life Atlantic Union Bank’s mission of being a digitally led, relationship backed, organization. The successful candidate will drive simple, seamless, digital customer engagements that not only satisfy immediate customer needs but also anticipate customer expectations of tomorrow with the goal of achieving best-in-class customer satisfaction and positioning Atlantic Union Bank as a capable competitor to banks large and small. This role will work in partnership with business leaders to define a technology roadmap that supports and enables business objectives, provides consultation on Atlantic Union Bank’s Go-to-Market strategy, and leads the delivery of technology solutions, leveraging Agile practices as a means of iterative and consistent change delivery. This role has responsibility for Digital Banking products and services that span Consumer, SMB, and Commercial business lines.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with business product teams and Marketing, creates a multi-year technology roadmap that leverages Digital as an enabler of business objectives.
  • Understands customer met/unmet digital needs through research efforts, in-depth understanding of voice of the customer, industry trend analysis, and vendor/platform capability assessments.
  • Curates discipline around the involvement of customers and front-line teams in a test-and-learn approach to solution development.
  • Continuously assesses competitive moves.
  • Oversees execution against the technology roadmap, directly leading Digital Product and Development teammates, and driving matrixed partners to deliver against change management and go-to-market dependencies.
  • Defines and drives KPIs and KRIs, providing consistent, reliable, transparency of team successes and opportunities to dependent, cross-functional, partners.
  • Consults on technical design decisions as development teams move through execution.
  • Cultivates a team culture of trust by producing high-quality technology solutions in a consistent, reliable, manner.
  • Plays a key role in production and incident management, responding to channel outages and service failures, ensuring clear accountability in the way issues are resolved and not repeated.
  • Responsible for driving accountability with dependent third and fourth parties.
  • Actively drives agile delivery maturity across technical delivery teams and matrixed partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a growth oriented, customer centric, regional or larger financial institution.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology, the people who use it, and a track record of anticipating customer needs in a rapidly changing digital environment.
  • Demonstrated reliance on customer feedback to shape technology solutions.
  • A good understanding of consumer, small-to-mid-sized business, and commercial financial services.
  • A creative and innovative thinker who is committed to the role of differentiating Atlantic Union Bank in the marketplace as a bank able to maintain the local knowledge and responsiveness of a community bank while delivering the expertise and capabilities of a larger bank.
