Director, Global Public Relations

Position Overview:

The Global PR Director will oversee the brand’s global communications calendar and global media strategy for all product categories, including driving high impact collection launches, maintaining strong yearlong editorial coverage, and ensuring brand’s share of voice leadership across print, digital and social editorial channels. The Director also manages the strategic development of all global press materials and directives, including conception, ideation, and oversight of the Global PR team’s briefing documents and process. 

In addition, the Director will serve as the senior global team member for regional PR teams, reviewing regional requests (i.e. media, events, partnerships), and aligning regional programs and PR activity to global directives, brand guidelines and business objectives. Regional programming, content development and strategic initiatives fall under the purview of this department and will be a collaborative effort with regional PR teams, as will Global Event planning and execution.

Key Accountabilities:

Global Editorial Strategy

  • Build and oversee global communications calendar, including key PR activations, product launches, news and ensure alignment with business goals and cross-department teams
  • Lead and collaborate with regional PR teams to build considered, strategic editorial plans for product launches, product news and PR programs/events that support business goals and PR directives
  • Oversee and manage all regional PR team requests related to media, events, partnerships
  • Lead development of proposals to pitch senior management new ideas and projects

Asset Development

  • Oversee development of messaging tracks and high-impact editorial angles to increase and improve editorial coverage
  • Drive strategic development of all PR materials and asset toolkits for product initiatives and ensure assets  meet Global PR objectives and support regional PR needs.
  • Manage the creation and dissemination of directives, PR strategies, and the execution of global activations.
  • Oversee Global PR budgets relating to all product initiatives
  • Oversee Global PR team’s project briefs, ensuring Managers are building well-considered, accurate project briefs that encompass strategy outlined for key product initiatives and thorough PR asset list 

Events

  • Partner with Global Events Director on conception and ideation of event programs to support new product launches and amplifying key existing products and collections. 

Reports & Team 

  • Oversee global editorial tracking reports (DMR) and recaps for department and senior leadership.
  • Support VP in working with the larger PR group to achieve departmental goals and foster an environment of collaboration.
  • Manage, coach and develop 2 direct reports (global PR managers)

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years’ public relations/communications experience
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Established public relations experience, preferably in-house for globally recognized and admired brands
  • Proven experience managing top-tier press for leading brands
  • Excellent organizational, communication and written skills, attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to shift priorities and multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think creatively when solving problems, and when implementing and/or revising processes.
  • Must be able to think strategically – then apply steps to achieve goals
  • Have a broad comprehension of the Tiffany & Co. business
  • Must be able to lead and develop staff

 

The hiring range for this position ranges from $150,000 - $212,000. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience. Management is, also eligible for bonus.
