Director of Communications

<strong>Role Overview</strong><br>Blue Circle Health is seeking a strategic, creative, and mission-driven Director of Communications to lead the organization’s storytelling, brand strategy, movement-building communications, and public engagement efforts. This role will play a critical leadership function in shaping how Blue Circle Health communicates its mission, amplifies patient voices, and builds a national movement focused on improving the lives of people with type 1 diabetes.<br>Reporting to the Vice President of Community Engagement, the Director of Communications will oversee integrated communications, brand, media, content, social media, and storytelling strategies that increase awareness, deepen community engagement, support patient enrollment, strengthen partnerships, and influence the broader conversation around T1D care and health equity.<br>The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, storyteller, writer, movement-builder, and team leader — someone who understands how communications can create trust, mobilize communities, influence systems, and turn individual stories into collective action.<br>This is a full time, remote, home-office based role eligible for a full benefits package including paid holidays, PTO, and competitive pay in a mission-based work environment. A private, quiet, home office space is required. Candidates may live anywhere in the United States. Some travel  is expected for community events, conferences, and company retreats and may reach up to 25% of total working time, including occasional weekends. <ul id="isPasted"><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">8+ years of experience in communications, marketing, brand strategy, public relations, or related fields.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">3+ years of experience leading and managing teams.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Exceptional written, verbal, and visual storytelling skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences and platforms.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications, content, or brand strategies that drive measurable engagement and growth.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Experience overseeing multimedia storytelling initiatives including video, podcast, social media, and digital campaigns.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Strong leadership experience with the ability to mentor teams, manage projects, and foster collaboration in a fast-paced environment.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Strong understanding of community engagement, movement with all key stakeholder types.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Partner with executive leadership, the Vice President of Community Engagement, and the Director of Development to translate organizational priorities into compelling public-facing campaigns and initiatives.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Oversee communications planning that supports patient engagement, enrollment, advocacy, donor development, and organizational awareness goals.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Identify opportunities to elevate Blue Circle Health as a national leader in equitable T1D care and aria-level="1">Lead strategic storytelling efforts that center the voices and lived experiences of people with T1D.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Oversee the creation and distribution of multimedia content including videos, podcasts, webinars, social campaigns, newsletters, blogs, and patient stories.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Collaborate with the Creative Producer to shape narrative direction and produce emotionally compelling, mission-aligned content.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Ensure communications initiatives authentically reflect the diversity and experiences of the communities Blue Circle Health serves.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Guide the development of educational and awareness campaigns that strengthen engagement and trust with patients, partners, and supporters.</li></ul><strong>Community Engagement & Movement Building</strong><ul><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Partner with the Senior Manager of Community to strengthen and grow Blue Circle Health’s community presence and patient engagement initiatives.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Support the development of meaningful community experiences, educational programming, peer engagement opportunities, and advocacy initiatives.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Foster collaboration with strategic partners to amplify Blue Circle Health’s mission.</li><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Represent Blue Circle Health at conferences, events, panels, media opportunities, and community gatherings as needed.</li></ul><strong>Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration</strong><ul><li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">Directly manage and mentor the Marketing Coordinator, Senior Manager of Community, and Creative Producer, fostering a collaborative, innovative,
