Director, People Business Partner, Aircraft OEM

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

We are seeking a skilled consultative People Business Partner who supports the President, Aircraft OEM, thriving in a fast paced and dynamic environment. You are detail oriented and can be a strategic partner to senior leaders as well balancing the details, at times being hands on to execute and drive results.  If this describes you, we want you to apply. 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Partner with Senior Leadership to develop high performing teams and develop best in class leaders, including providing direct coaching to drive Archer’s culture and core values
  • Ability to establish strong relationships at all levels and across functions within the organization
  • A heightened awareness of the needs of the business will ultimately lead to better partnerships and execution of large-scale initiatives
  • Influence and consult with leaders through various people related situations that align with the organization’s strategy 
  • Work closely with People Centers of Excellence to provide input for the design of HR programs in specific areas (e.g., recruiting, talent and performance management, total rewards, and immigration and mobility), and to support the delivery 
  • Analyze trends within the specific business group(s) and utilize People  metrics and people data to drive solutions based on trends and understand effectiveness of support provided
  • Support the delivery of key People (HR) processes for the broader Archer population (e.g. policy creation, employee and labor relations, compliance, performance management, talent movement, leadership coaching, etc.)
  • Supports other HR related responsibilities as needed

What you need:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of Human Resource laws, strategies, policies, and practices within the state of CA and globally
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, multi-task, and follow up on issues
  • Problem solving with the ability to go deep into the details to identify root causes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be hands on to meet team deadlines

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $225,000 - $250,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
