This position is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of projects, including internal and external work, data centers, VDOT and municipal relocations, network and large industrial customer jobs, main feeder‑hardening initiatives, planning activities, and reliability improvements. This list is not exhaustive and may include additional work request types as assigned. Responsible for tracking actual vs. forecasted costs, identifying cost variances, and communicating financial risks and mitigation strategies to customer. Develop and maintain detailed project timelines with milestones and dependencies. Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and financial records. Serve as the single point of contact for customers and key stakeholders. Monitoring progress against the schedule and updating forecasts as needed. Provide written variance explanations for any cost overruns. This posting covers two vacancies. Successful candidates will report to either the Lincoln Park (Herndon) or Alexandria location. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project management of high volume, complex Electric Distribution projects.
  • Lead projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Accomplishes assigned objectives and ensures scope, schedule, and cost of project.
  • Manages projects and adherence to the company's terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for tracking actual vs. forecasted costs, identifying cost variances, and communicating financial risks and mitigation strategies to customer.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project timelines with milestones and dependencies.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and financial records.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for customers and key stakeholders.
  • Monitoring progress against the schedule and updating forecasts as needed.
  • Provide written variance explanations for any cost overruns.

Requirements

  • 8-9+ years demonstrated experience in project management, relevant technologies, and in the project area.
  • Subject Matter Expert on electrical distribution systems; engineering and design; work methods (OH & UG); materials; contract terms, construction standards.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience required.
  • Balance multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.
  • Ability to work and develop rapport with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to represent the project and the company in public forums.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
