Enterprise Architect – SAP Surround Systems

<p>Smith+Nephew is seeking an Enterprise Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of SAP S/4HANA surround and satellite systems across the enterprise. This role defines end-to-end architecture for SAP-integrated platforms including CRM, PLM, MES, Finance, HR, Procurement, Analytics, and custom digital solutions, ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.<br><br>The Enterprise Architect partners with business leaders, SAP functional teams, system integrators, and platform owners to translate business capabilities into target-state architectures. The role leverages AI-assisted and GenAI-enabled design techniques for architecture modeling, option analysis, impact assessment, and automated documentation.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>1. SAP Surround & Satellite Architecture<br>• Define target and transition architectures for SAP S/4HANA surround systems (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Ariba, Workday, Veeva, Windchill, Kinaxis, MuleSoft, analytics platforms, and custom applications).<br>• Design resilient integration patterns (API-led, event-driven, middleware-based) ensuring performance and data integrity.<br>• Govern master data, reference data, and transactional data flows across SAP and non-SAP systems.<br><br>2. Enterprise Architecture & Governance<br>• Establish and enforce enterprise architecture principles, standards, and reference architectures.<br>• Conduct architecture reviews and provide design assurance across programs and projects.<br>• Ensure alignment with security, privacy, validation, and regulatory requirements.<br><br>3. AI-Enabled Architecture Design<br>• Apply AI and GenAI tools to accelerate architecture design, dependency mapping, and documentation.<br>• Use AI-assisted analysis for impact assessment, technical debt identification, and optimization.<br>• Collaborate with AI platform teams to embed architecture intelligence into delivery pipelines.<br><br>4.
