Job Overview

Leading international cruise lines are now hiring Entertainment Hosts, with open vacancies for South African performers, MCs, dancers, and presenters. As an Entertainment Host, you’ll be responsible for hosting daily and nightly events, leading social games and activities, and keeping guests entertained in lounges, on deck, and in theatres.


Key Responsibilities

  • Host and coordinate onboard entertainment such as trivia, game shows, karaoke, dance nights, poolside games, and themed parties
  • Serve as MC for live shows and special events
  • Engage with guests in a fun, professional, and energetic manner
  • Assist with setup and technical support for small-scale events
  • Collaborate with the Cruise Director and Entertainment Team
  • Perform or support production shows (if applicable to your skills)
  • Maintain a positive, welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Open to South African citizens with a valid passport
  • Background in performing arts, dance, theatre, MC work, or public speaking
  • Outgoing personality with strong stage presence and charisma
  • Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
  • Ability to lead crowds, entertain guests, and improvise on the spot
  • Must be confident with a microphone and in front of live audiences
  • Willing to live and work onboard for 6–8 months at a time
  • Must pass a seafarer's medical exam and background checks
  • Previous experience on stage, on camera, or in hospitality is an advantage
