<div><h1>Environmental Compliance Manager</h1><p><b>Company:</b> Rogue Waste Systems, Inc.<br /><b>Location:</b> Dry Creek Landfill<br /><b>Schedule:</b> Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (additional hours as needed based on operational demands)<br /><b>Compensation:</b> $75,000–$85,000 base salary + 10% cash bonus<br /><b>Benefits:</b> Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), company‑paid life and disability insurance</p><h3></h3><h2>Position Summary</h2><p>The <b>Environmental Compliance Manager</b> reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing all environmental systems and compliance activities at the Dry Creek Landfill. This role ensures full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations through proactive monitoring, reporting, system maintenance, and continuous improvement.</p><p>The position has direct supervisory responsibility over Environmental and Landfill Technicians and works closely with leadership, regulators, vendors, and internal departments to maintain environmental excellence and operational integrity.</p><h3></h3><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Manage and oversee landfill environmental monitoring, operation, maintenance, and construction related to:<ul><li>Landfill gas extraction systems</li><li>Leachate collection and management systems</li><li>Stormwater, groundwater, sewer, and freshwater systems</li></ul></li><li>Coordinate air, water, and environmental monitoring programs, including data review, reporting, and regulatory tracking</li><li>Identify, report, and respond to environmental exceedances; collaborate on sustainable corrective actions</li><li>Prepare and assist with regulatory responses, inspection follow-ups, and administrative correspondence</li><li>Lead stormwater compliance activities, including inspections, sampling, reporting, and training under site-specific SWPPP and Industrial Stormwater General Permit requirements</li><li>Supervise Environmental and Landfill Technicians, including hiring, training, mentoring, scheduling, performance management, and accountability</li><li>Deliver formal and informal environmental training to technicians, landfill managers, and site personnel</li><li>Oversee environmental vendors and contractors; evaluate performance and recommend improvements</li><li>Assist landfill and site management with fill sequencing and long-term operational planning</li><li>Support environmental‑related construction projects, including compliance tracking and progress monitoring</li><li>Utilize GPS and survey systems for gas well placement and landfill topography</li><li>Maintain, calibrate, and manage confined space monitoring equipment and related safety gear</li></ul><h1></h1><h1>Skills & Qualifications</h1><p><b>Required:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, construction management, business, or a closely related field</li><li>Advanced working knowledge of environmental regulations related to landfill operations (gas, leachate, groundwater, stormwater)</li><li>Experience with laboratory analysis, contaminant evaluation, QA/QC procedures, and testing requirements</li><li>Strong leadership experience with proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop technical staff</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills</li><li>Proficiency with Excel, data analysis, survey/GPS programs, and environmental reporting tools</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal teams, regulators, vendors, and the public</li></ul><p></p><h2><b>Certifications (required or preferred):</b></h2><ul><li>HAZWOPER</li><li>Confined Space Entry</li><li>HDPE liner and pipe certification</li></ul><p></p><h2>Physical & Work Environment Requirements:</h2><ul><li>Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds</li><li>This is a safety sensitive position</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, including exposure to dust, odors, noise, and weather</li><li>Ability to walk long distances over uneven or steep terrain</li><li>Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety boots, eye protection, high‑visibility vests, and respirators</li></ul><p></p></div><p><u><b>To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at www.wasteconnections.com.
