Position Summary: The Construction Estimator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to estimating construction projects. This position will have overall responsibility for projects profitably, monitoring and controlling the bidding process, and transferring winning projects to the Operations team. This position will require prior general contracting estimating; a combination of skills including the ability to detect unstated assumptions; materials takeoffs, ask the right and timely questions during the bidding process; recognize risk that may impact the projects profitability outcome; and must be highly detailed oriented. This position will work closely with the leadership team to pursuit the right projects. This position will report to the Construction Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Manage all pre-construction phases of projects.

- Meet with Owners, Architects, and project teams to assure a cohesive, clear understanding of the project scope.

- Develop detailed bid packages for each scope in our online bid management system.

- Review proposed designs for constructability, value-engineering, and profitability.

- Pre-bid site visit.

- Analyze subcontractors and vendors’ proposals and compare them with the projects’ documents to make sure all scopes are covered.

- Prepare appropriate cost estimates.

- Assist pricing change orders during construction phase.

- Actively seeking new projects, potential clients, and business partners to develop new relationships.

- Follow up on submitted proposals for feedback.

- Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate their solutions.

- Conduct subcontractor/vendor scope interview prior to award.

Qualifications/Skills:

- Ability to read and write English.

- Ability to read and understand construction projects documents (drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, bid documents requirements, etc.)

- 3-5 years’ experience as an Estimator

- MS Office Suite

- Very detailed oriented and reliable

- Ability to interact with design team, owners, and project teams.

- Capability to work under tight schedules and multi-task.

- Solid organizational skills and work efficiently in a team environment.

- Ability to use computers for long periods of time.

- Great communication and negotiation competences

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
