Financial Controller

Overview<br>Our client is a fast-growing UK-based organisation operating within the renewable energy and engineering sector. They specialise in the design, manufacture, and supply of high-quality infrastructure solutions that support large-scale solar energy projects. As part of their continued growth, they are strengthening their finance function to support scalable processes, strong governance, and ESG-driven decision making.<br>We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day finance operations and ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving systems and processes, and supporting both operational and strategic decision-making across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.<br>Responsibilities<br>Deliver weekly, monthly, and annual management accounts with meaningful analysis<br>Lead budgeting and reforecasting processes with department heads<br>Maintain strong financial governance and internal controls<br>Ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102), HMRC requirements, VAT, CIS, corporation tax, and payroll<br>Manage year-end statutory accounts and external audit process<br>Oversee Companies House submissions and statutory reporting deadlines<br>Maintain accurate costing models to support pricing and commercial decisions<br>Oversee project cost allocation and financial tracking<br>Support capital investment analysis and business case development<br>Prepare cashflow forecasts and manage working capital performance<br>Oversee credit control and banking relationships<br>Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, and automation<br>Support ERP optimisation and integration with operational teams<br>Support and develop the finance team, including junior staff<br>Oversee transactional finance functions (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations)<br>Support ESG-related financial reporting and emissions-related cost tracking<br>Provide financial input into sustainability and compliance reporting requirements<br>Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function<br>Support scalable financial processes aligned with business growth<br>Qualifications<br>Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)<br>Strong technical knowledge of statutory reporting, UK GAAP (FRS 102) and UK tax compliance<br>Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or project-based environment<br>Proven leadership and ability to enhance Finance team capability<br>Excellent communication skills with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders<br>Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment<br>Desirable<br>Renewable energy sector exposure<br>Experience with ERP improvements or automation in Finance<br>Understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability-linked costing<br>#J-18808-Ljbffr Salary: GBP 60000 - 80000 per year
