Financial Resources Consultant - Employee Benefits National Accounts Underwriting

<p style="text-align:left">Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>About the role:</b></p><p></p><p>The Financial Resources Consultant is knowledgeable and experienced with pricing Group Insurance and administrative services across Life, Absence/ Disability, Supplemental Health, Vision and/or Dental products. This position partners with internal teams to develop strategy and ensure that our clients receive the most competitive pricing and programs available in the market. This role adds to SNS’ value proposition by developing financial analysis and recommendations to maximize product offerings and cost savings via an evidence-based approach.</p><p></p><p><b>Essential Duties and Functions:</b> include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p><ul><li>Analyzes various group products, including but not limited to, Life/ AD&D, Absence/ Disability, Supplemental Health, Vision and Dental.</li><li>Serves as the primary financial expert and contact for the account teams and is responsible all financial aspects of SNS’ clients’ programs, including RFP, renewal negotiations, statutory feasibility, ad-hoc analysis and providing experience analysis on a regular cadence.</li><li>Uses an evidence-based approach to analyze SNS’ clients’ experience.  Partner with the Sales and Service organizations to develop a strategy that addresses trends in the experience, make relevant recommendations and communicate this narrative through internal and external facing presentations.</li><li>Evaluates proposed pricing and negotiating with vendors to ensure fair and competitive costs for our clients;</li><li>Makes complex and accurate claim picks, developing reserves, and calculating expense factors and components;</li><li>Prices self-insured products using complex data extracts;</li><li>Supports the Account teams with ad-hoc financial analysis;</li><li>Provides ROI analysis and exhibits;</li><li>Creates client-ready reports and presentations;</li><li>Develops new reports and tools;</li><li>Participates in client meetings and conference calls as needed to provide underwriting and financial expertise;</li><li>Monitors the SNS book of business, identifying trends by product, industry, account team, and vendor;</li><li>Develops client-specific statutory feasibility analysis.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Required: </b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics</li><li>At least 3-5 years Group Underwriting experience, preferably for clients with greater than 2500 lives;</li><li>Expert-level skill in Microsoft Excel;</li><li>Proficient with MS Office Suite</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality</li><li>Individual also understands importance of peer review, for their own work and reviewing the work of others.</li><li>Strong analytical skills; proficient in working with complex data sets</li></ul><p><b>Preferred:</b></p><ul><li>Experience pricing Life & Absence Disability products for clients with more than 5k lives.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Teammate Benefits & Total Well-Being</b></p><p style="text-align:left">We go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including:</p><ul><li><i><u>Health Benefits</u></i>: Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability <span><span><span><span><span class="WKM1"><span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">Insurance  </span></span></span></span></span></span></li><li><i><u>Financial Benefits</u></i>: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement </li><li><i><u>Mental Health & Wellness</u></i>: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy Services</li><li><i><u>Beyond Benefits</u></i>: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more. </li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><i>Not reflective of all benefits.
