Our client, a premier private golf club located in the heart of Boston, is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Head Golf Professional to lead their esteemed golf operations. This position is a fully remote role, focused on strategic oversight, member engagement, and the overall enhancement of the golf experience, supported by a dedicated on-site team. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the golf department, including professional shop operations, member services, tournament coordination, and the development of instructional programs. Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all golf operations. Manage the daily operations of the professional golf shop, including merchandising and inventory control. Develop and execute comprehensive golf programs, clinics, and lesson offerings. Oversee the planning and execution of club tournaments and special events. Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the golf professional staff and outside services team. Develop and manage the golf department budget, ensuring financial targets are met. Foster strong relationships with members, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and engagement. Implement and maintain high standards for service excellence throughout the golf experience. Collaborate with club management and committees on strategic initiatives and facility improvements. Utilize technology to enhance member communication, manage tee times, and analyze operational data.
Qualifications:
PGA or LPGA Class A Professional Certification required. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in golf professional roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership capacity. Demonstrated success in golf instruction, tournament management, and retail operations. Proven ability to manage budgets and financial performance. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of golf club operations and member relations. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, Lightspeed) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel periodically to the Boston location for key events and meetings.
