Role Description

The Head, Regional Medical Director leads a team of Regional Medical Directors across North America and supports the development of medical education and field engagement activities. This role includes overseeing team operations, guiding medical field strategies, and contributing to scientific engagement. The position also includes serving as a Regional Medical Director part-time.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of Regional Medical Directors, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance management.
  • Oversee planning and review of scientific engagement materials used by medical field teams.
  • Coordinate with medical and cross-functional teams to support aligned engagement with healthcare professionals.
  • Develop medical education programs to address identified learning needs among healthcare providers.
  • Support medical affairs–led research initiatives within the US.
  • Serve as a resource to internal partners by offering medical insights that contribute to program planning and field engagement.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative work environment that supports team development.
  • Represent medical affairs in cross-functional discussions with clarity and professionalism.
  • Contribute to field responsibilities as a Regional Medical Director for approximately half of the role.
  • Support safety-related responsibilities in alignment with established processes.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a medical degree program leading to a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • 7 plus years in clinical practice providing patient care.
  • Experience in the treatment and care of people living with HIV.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • 1 year plus experience as a Regional Medical Director.

  • Experience collaborating with colleagues across multiple functions.
  • Experience building relationships with internal leaders and external healthcare professionals.
  • Experience providing guidance, coaching, or mentorship to colleagues.
