Role Description

The Product Supply Owner (PSO) is accountable for end-to-end operational performance of assigned product lines within a Business Group, ensuring reliable supply, optimized cost, and strong service delivery across the value chain. Acting as the single point of ownership for supply execution, the PSO translates Value Stream Lead (VSL) strategy into actionable plans, aligning cross-functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and commercial functions. This role drives execution discipline, resolves complex supply and quality issues, and balances service, cost, and inventory to meet business objectives while enabling scalable growth, NPI readiness, and lifecycle excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Supply Execution
    • Own operational performance for assigned product lines, including service, OTIF, backlog, and inventory targets.
    • Translate demand signals into executable supply plans across the value chain.
    • Ensure continuity of supply while balancing cost and working capital within defined guardrails.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Coordinate execution across Manufacturing, MSAT, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, and Commercial teams.
    • Act as the central point of accountability for supply performance and issue resolution.
    • Drive alignment on priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans across stakeholders.
  • Risk and Issue Management
    • Lead resolution of supply, quality, and capacity disruptions with urgency and structure.
    • Own root cause analysis and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
    • Identify, quantify, and escalate risks with clear business impact and mitigation plans.
  • Capacity and Network Management
    • Ensure short- and mid-term capacity plans are executable and aligned with demand.
    • Support network optimization, tech transfers, and supply continuity strategies.
    • Enable smooth execution of product lifecycle events, including NPI, transfers, and end-of-life transitions.
  • Performance and Financial Accountability
    • Monitor and report KPIs across service, cost, inventory, quality, and risk.
    • Provide clear visibility to VSLs and leadership through structured performance updates.
    • Drive cost optimization, margin improvement, and supply chain resilience initiatives.

Decision Authority

  • Own day-to-day operational decisions within VSL-defined guardrails.
  • Prioritize recovery plans for supply, quality, and capacity challenges.
  • Recommend strategic actions on inventory positioning, supplier performance, and cost improvements.
  • Escalate major trade-offs, risks, and investment needs with quantified business impact.

Key Success Metrics

  • OTIF performance, backlog reduction, and inventory optimization.
  • Cost reduction and margin improvement delivery.
  • Supply continuity and disruption mitigation effectiveness.
  • Execution of NPI readiness and lifecycle milestones.
  • Stakeholder alignment and satisfaction across functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; advanced Degree preferred.
  • Typically, 10+ years of working experience with 5+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing in a life sciences or regulated environment.
  • Strong expertise in supply planning, capacity management, and risk mitigation.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional execution in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions under ambiguity.
  • Willingness to travel (25–50%).
