In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, specifying, and validating immigration forms across USCIS, DOL, and DOS filing requirements, ensuring our software accurately captures complex case data and produces error-free filings.<br><br>Immigration forms are the backbone of our platform. Government agencies regularly update forms, modify filing procedures, and introduce new electronic filing requirements. You will be the subject matter expert who ensures our forms library stays current, accurate, and aligned with how immigration attorneys actually prepare cases. Your work directly impacts case outcomes for attorneys and the foreign nationals they represent.<br><br>You will collaborate closely with the product manager and engineers to translate legal requirements into technical specifications, validate accurate data mapping for both PDF generation and electronic filing, and diagnose form-related issues to ensure seamless functionality. We have been recognized as one of Inc 5000's fastest growing companies in the U.S. for 13 years in a row, and as a result, our teams continue to grow as well!<br><br><strong>What you'll do:</strong><br><br><strong>Forms Analysis and Specification:</strong><br><ul><li>Develop detailed specifications for the engineering team to convert immigration forms into streamlined digital intakes, ensuring seamless data mapping for PDFs and electronic filings.</li><li>Monitor USCIS, DOL, and DOS form releases, policy updates, and edition changes to ensure our forms library reflects current government requirements within required compliance windows.</li><li>Validate e-filing output against USCIS and DOL electronic submission specifications, ensuring our platform meets government portal requirements.</li><li>Stay current on changes to USCIS online filing, the DOL FLAG system, and other government electronic submission processes.</li><li>Identify priorities for form expansion or additions based on customer feedback.</li></ul><br><strong>Collaboration and Problem Solving</strong><br><ul><li>Work closely with product and engineering teams to refine form mapping and optimize the user experience for attorneys and their staff.</li><li>Investigate and troubleshoot form issues, pinpointing root causes and collaborating with engineers to implement effective solutions.</li><li>Apply your industry expertise to ensure our forms remain accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with how immigration cases are actually prepared in practice.</li></ul><br><strong>About you:</strong><br><ul><li>3 to 5 years of hands-on experience preparing immigration forms in a law firm, corporate immigration department, or legal services organization.</li><li>Working knowledge of a range of case types, including non-immigrant petitions (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN), employment-based green cards (PERM, I-140, adjustment of status), family-based immigration, and naturalization.</li><li>Understanding of e-filing procedures for USCIS online filing and DOL FLAG system submissions.</li><li>Meticulous attention to detail with an understanding that form errors can result in RFEs, denials, or delays for clients.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across product, engineering, and legal teams.</li><li>Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.</li></ul><br><strong>Nice to have:</strong><br><ul><li>Paralegal certificate or formal immigration law training.</li><li>Experience at a high-volume immigration practice where you prepared forms across multiple case types simultaneously.</li><li>Experience with immigration case management software such as Docketwise, INSZoom, LawLogix, or similar platforms.</li><li>Familiarity with AILA practice resources, form instructions, and policy guidance.</li></ul><br><strong><strong>Additional Information</strong></strong>The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000. The salary range for performing this role outside of the US / Austin / California may differ. 8am is committed to offering competitive, fair and commensurate compensation and has provided an estimated pay range for this role.
