Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing symptoms, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary.
  • Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
  • Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's through memory care techniques and patient observation.
  • Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
  • Document care activities meticulously, update care plans regularly, and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred.
  • CA Home Care Aid Registry is required.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia enhances your ability to provide exceptional care.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
  • Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing urgent health issues promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare providers.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
  • Valid car registration is required.
  • Current TB Test is required.
  • Experience with Alzheimer/Dementia required.
