<p><b>Salary Range:</b></p>$117,000.00 - $151,000.00<p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><b>What’s the role?</b></p><p></p><p>As the Innovation Operations Manager, Merchant Risk,you will play a foundational role in shaping and scaling Etsy’s Merchant Risk strategy. You will own high impact initiatives across the seller lifecycle, designing risk frameworks, defining operational roadmaps, and partnering cross-functionally to reduce financial loss while preserving seller experience. You bring expertise in credit risk and risk operations, leveraging industry leading tools and detection methodologies and tooling to identify emerging risk signals. You will work closely with Product and Engineering to design scalable safeguards, develop operational tooling, and establish high-quality datasets that power future machine learning models.</p><p></p><p>This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager of Merchant Risk. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.</p><p></p><p>For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Depending on where you are located in the United States, your work mode will be Local Hybrid, Regional Hybrid or Remote. Learn more details about our work modes and workplace safety policies .</p><p></p><p><b>What’s this team like at Etsy?</b></p><p></p><p>This role sits within the Merchant Risk vertical of Etsy’s Risk & Fraud organization, which includes Merchant Risk, Account Integrity & Security, Transaction Fraud, and Marketplace Fraud. The Merchant Risk team is focused on understanding seller financial health and proactively mitigating loss exposure across the seller lifecycle. In this role, you will support designing risk segmentation frameworks and evolve our credit risk program. We balance customer experience with risk mitigation, driving technical investments grounded in operational realities and long-term scalability.</p><p></p><p><b>What does the day-to-day look like?</b></p><ul><li><p>Lead strategy and execution for foundational Merchant Risk initiatives including taxonomy development and risk segmentation frameworks</p></li><li><p>Partner with Product and Engineering to design and build scalable operational tools and machine learning (ML) powered risk controls</p></li><li><p>Translate operational risk needs into clear technical requirements and influence roadmap prioritization</p></li><li><p>Conduct exploratory data analyses to uncover emerging risk patterns and inform control design</p></li><li><p>Define and evolve long-term tooling strategy to drive efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation</p></li><li><p>Support and enhance the credit risk program, ensuring effective indicators, controls, and lifecycle interventions that balance risk appetite and customer experience</p></li><li><p>Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require!
