About the position

Under the general direction of the Chief Culture Officer, Health Outcomes and Cultural Excellence Intern will assist with a variety of projects. This role supports the Cultural Excellence department work, which includes: Health Engagement Zone Initiative tasks, administrative tasks, and other tasks related to the work of the Office of Cultural Excellence, which align with the mission, vision, and values of Health & Hospital Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative, operational, and project-based functions within the organization.
  • Apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges in healthcare management.
  • Assist with data analysis, patient services, workflow optimization, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to strategic planning, compliance efforts, and organizational development.
  • Assist Office of Cultural Excellence and Health Engagement Zones teams with drafting grant applications, letters of intent, proposals, and other relevant duties related to proposal development.
  • Assist Office of Cultural Excellence and Health Engagement Zones teams with work related to deployment of department materials for programming.
  • Collect relevant data for projects, database/spreadsheet development and maintenance for community partnership tracking.
  • Assist with the development or updating of relevant presentations.
  • Support team members in staff meetings with various activities related to the outcomes of those meetings.
  • Attend staff meetings and other meetings related to work duties.
  • Attend relevant meetings in the community and interact with a diverse group of individuals and organizations.
  • Learn about the operations of Health & Hospital Corporation and its related divisions, to provide context for the basis of the work deliverables.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (e.g., MHA, MPH, MBA with healthcare focus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior internship or part-time experience in healthcare settings is a plus.
