Design, develop and maintain applications using Java technologies;

Solve complex technical problems by quickly analyzing situations and proposing pragmatic solutions;

Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, consistency and the sharing of best practices within the team;

Take on a technical leadership role within the team, creating a work environment where everyone can express themselves, learn and contribute;

Provide coaching and training to developers, supporting them in a personalized manner in their technical and professional development;

Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, Scrums, retrospectives), promoting listening, transparency and continuous improvement;

Actively participate in business needs analysis;

Act as a facilitator between stakeholders (POs, architecture consultants, quality assurance, etc.), building bridges between technical expertise and business objectives;

Organize technology watch workshops to share emerging trends with junior developers.

Keys to your success

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering, or diploma of college studies (DEC) with equivalent professional experience;

Minimum 10 years of experience in Java development, including 2 to 3 years of experience as a tech lead;

Experience with full-stack Java development, including multiple versions of Java (8+), DevOps, and a front-end framework (Angular or React);

Experience with databases such as SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, etc.;

Experience with multiple technologies in the following categories:

Languages and frameworks: Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Web, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Batch;

Cloud and DevOps: AWS (IaaS, PaaS), Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm Chart, Flux CD, Istio, GCP;

Tools: Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Git, SonarQube;

Testing and documentation: JUnit, Mockito, Postman, Swagger, Cucumber;

Other: Apache POI library, OAuth2 concepts, Guidewire.

Knowledge of Agile (Scrum, Sprint), Waterfall and hybrid methodologies, with the ability to adapt to client practices;

Adaptability, team spirit, and a solution-oriented mindset;

Strong leadership, initiative, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Industry experience in insurance, financial services, or other business sectors;

Experience in consulting services.

Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a regular basis with employees and managers outside of Quebec.
