Land & Right-of-Way Senior I - Underground Storage

Primary Purpose

Delivers expert land and right‑of‑way services for complex projects with significant stakeholder and regulatory considerations. Leads negotiations, resolves disputes, and advises project teams on land‑related risks and strategy. Operates independently with accountability for outcomes.

Within the storage organization (Aboveground and Underground), this role manages oil, gas, mineral, royalty, right-of-way and gas storage rights. With expertise in surface and subsurface title and land records, as well as oil and gas operations, it independently delivers land services, leads negotiations, coordinates with legal, contractors, regulators and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts complex analysis of acquisition data to monitor project performance within time and budget constraints.
  • Negotiates acquisition of land rights and damage settlements; coordinates approval, conducts outreach, and processes payments.
  • Prepares easement packages and performs courthouse documentation searches to facilitate easement acquisition.
  • Prepares Department of Transportation (DOT) and railroad permit applications for utility facility crossings and encroachments.
  • Orders title reports, obtains title reviews, and coordinates escrow steps for land acquisitions.
  • Supports developing scope of work documents and related contracts for land acquisition services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education

  • Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
  • Required: Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
