It’s a fast-paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions. You’ll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with colleagues that will help you to learn, develop and grow. As the technical leader in the team, you will also interact with customers, share knowledge and mentor those around you.</p><p></p><p>Your key responsibilities will <span>include:</span></p><ul><li><p><b>Working as part of a team </b>- You’ll work alongside colleagues in engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security capabilities to build, test and deploy software of the highest quality; including the operation and continuous improvement of underlying platform services.</p></li><li><p><b>Using technology for positive impact </b>– You’ll ensure the latest technologies are employed appropriately and aligned with industry best practices for maximum user and business benefit.</p></li><li><p><b>Share your knowledge </b>– As a respected technologist within Kainos, you’ll begin broadcasting your opinions. You’ll be passionate and committed to ensuring Kainos projects are successful.</p></li><li><p><b>Pushing the boundaries </b>– Through exposure to technology you may develop specialisms and choose to pivot your career in a certain direction.</p></li><li><p><b>Providing Technical Leadership </b>– You’ll provide direction and leadership for your team as you solve challenging problems together on delivery and support projects.</p></li><li><p><b>Putting people first & developing others </b>– You’ll manage, coach and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on managing employee performance and assisting in their career development.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Minimum (essential) <span>requirements</span></span></b></p><ul><li><p>Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to simply and clearly communicate technical design (or significant portions thereof) in conversation, documentation and presentation to a technical and non-technical audience.</p></li><li><p>We all work in teams here in Kainos – You’ll need a proven experience of team leadership and supporting a DevOps culture in delivering and/or supporting complex projects.</p></li><li><p>The role requires SC Clearance.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Significant expertise <span>in:</span></p><ul><li><p>Designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring and/or operating, enhancing and improving reliability of modern digital service platform in production <span>environments.</span></p></li><li><p>Using the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for releasing operationally ready software to production, including platform orchestration through the use of multiple configuration management tools</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span>Demonstrable</span> <span>experience</span> <span>in:</span></p><ul><li><p>Building and/or supporting modern digital service platforms to include architecture, design, estimation, planning and iteration on MVP using a modern agile approach.</p></li><li><p>Championing best practice use of Site Reliability Engineering tooling, techniques and processes to manage and improve existing platform services.
