Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical-Surgical team. Our Medical-Surgical Unit is a vital part of our hospital, offering a dynamic and supportive environment where LPNs are valued members of the care team. Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 0.90 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America) Responsibilities:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to adult patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or dealing with acute medical conditions. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting activities of daily living

  • Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV therapies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician.

  • Assist in dressing changes, wound care, and post-surgical care according to physician orders.

  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including symptoms, reactions to treatments, or changes in vital signs.

  • Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans for patients.

  • Provide patients and families with instructions regarding post-discharge care, medication regimens, and follow-up appointments.

  • Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterile techniques.

  • Assist in responding to patient emergencies and follow protocols to ensure timely and appropriate care.

Qualifications:

•High School Diploma or GED

•Nursing Diploma

•Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or out of state compact LPN license

•BLS REQUIRED at time of hire
