Drive the design and development of new underwriting rules to achieve business objectives. Develop provincial regulatory filings where applicable. Develop an in-depth understanding of small business underwriting strategy and rules and a solid understanding of customer segments, customer needs, competitive landscape and trends in the General Insurance industry to assist in identifying new business opportunities. Lead the end-to-end management and refinement of small business insurance underwriting strategy and rules, monitor performance, analyze key business drivers, identify areas of opportunity, develop recommendations and drive changes to achieve business and financial objectives. Job Requirements 7+ years General Insurance experience. CIP, FCIP, CRM or equivalent insurance designation, or actively working towards an insurance designation. Commercial Automobile Insurance underwriting, wordings and endorsements knowledge and experience. Experience developing and maintaining Commercial Insurance company underwriting manuals – both internal and filed. Experience developing provincial regulatory underwriting filings for regulators. Strong critical thinking skills, financial acumen, and ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise, actionable summaries for an executive audience. Demonstrates excellent judgment and relationship building skills with a superior ability to make things happen with impact and influence and by nurturing key relationships. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make fact-based recommendations in a timely manner.
