Manufacturing Process Engineer

In this role, you will play a critical part in evaluating existing processes, developing control strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will lead training initiatives and manage projects aimed at improving site safety and operational excellence.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul> <li>Optimize process control for maximum efficiency.</li> <li>Assess manufacturing technologies, instruments, equipment, and tools.</li> <li>Implement preventive and predictive maintenance systems to minimize unplanned downtime.</li> <li>Assist in project planning while promoting an electrical safety culture in line with NFPA 70E compliance.</li> <li>Utilize computer-based systems for prioritizing maintenance requests and managing inventory.</li> <li>Leverage training resources to enhance team technical skills.</li> <li>Utilize troubleshooting methods to meet uptime, production volume, and quality objectives.</li> </ul><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience in PLC programming.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in HMI Programming, with a preference for Rockwell systems.</li> <li>Experience in industrial manufacturing settings.</li> <li>Proven project management capabilities.</li> <li>Experience ensuring compliance with safety regulations.</li> <li>High proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, preferably with Rockwell systems.</li> <li>Ability to program and troubleshoot AC/DC power inverters, servo drives, and frequency drives.</li> <li>Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.</li> <li>Understanding of electrical power and control system schematics.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address root causes.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.</li> <li>Strong organizational and planning skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.</li> <li>Availability for on-call support during non-business hours as needed.</li> <li>Flexible work schedule availability, including weekends.</li> <li>Leadership experience is a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with electrical power distribution systems preferred.</li> <li>Proficiency with process instrumentation (thermocouples, flowmetres, etc.).</li> <li>Working knowledge of CAD software is advantageous.</li> </ul><p><b>About Weyerhaeuser:</b> We sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place.
