Market Research & Insights Specialist | Remote

IMEG is hiring a Market Research & Insights Specialist | Remote , to support regional growth and national market sector strategies through timely, actionable market intelligence. In this role, you’ll gather, analyze, and distribute insights on emerging opportunities, competitive activity, and client/partner trends to inform business development and pursuit planning. You’ll also support pre-project teaming outreach to strengthen IMEG’s visibility and collaboration with architectural, design, and strategic partners.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Monitor and research industry trends, regional economic activity, competitor moves, and upcoming strategic project opportunities across IMEG’s geographic regions and national market sectors

  • Gather, analyze, and maintain intelligence from subscription economic trends databases, public agencies, trade publications, and professional organizations

  • Develop market snapshots, client profiles, and opportunity briefs for distribution to Business Development and Marketing leadership as requested

  • Maintain knowledge of public funding sources, bond referendums, and capital improvement plans relevant to assigned IMEG regions and markets

  • Support unqualified lead generation gathering intelligence early in the project lifecycle, before Request For Quotes are issued

  • Distribute leads to appropriate Client Executives, Regional Business Development, or Market Sector Leaders, to support lead qualification and proactive pursuit planning

  • Assist in developing Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM) and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) assessments and market share analysis to guide strategy

  • Support project teaming and relationship mapping with architectural, design, and consultant partners

  • Work closely with Client Executives, Regional Business Development, Market Sector Leaders, and Proposal Operations to ensure intelligence directly supports pursuit strategies

  • Support capture planning meetings and pursuit strategy kick-offs with current intelligence

  • Maintain documentation of research methods, sources, and protocols to ensure consistency and scalability

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Research/Analytics, or related field required

  • 5+ years of progressive experience required in the Architecture Engineering and Construction industry or related professional services environment

  • Demonstrated success leading pursuit strategies and winning large, complex projects

  • Strong research and analytical skills; ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights

  • Familiarity with industry databases and public planning documents

  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management platforms

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across geographically distributed teams

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into action

  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays

A traditional sales background isn’t required, but understanding the professional services sales process is valuable.

State of Illinois Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
