With minimal project oversight, this role utilizes estimating, and modeling software at a proficient level to produce material lists, engineering calculations, cost analyses, and bid-ready documentation for complex water, and industrial process systems.</p><div><p></p><p>Estimator IIs are accountable for quality control across assigned projects, providing technical guidance to team members, and ensuring estimates meet industry standards, GF quality expectations, and project timelines. This role plays a critical part in the pre-construction phase by delivering accurate, competitive estimates while supporting internal teams and customers throughout the project lifecycle.</p><p><span>This role is considered a<span> </span></span><b>HYBRID</b><span><span> </span>position with periodic onsite work at our headquarters in Apple Valley, Minnesota; however, U.S.-based candidates will also be considered for a fully remote arrangement.</span></p><p></p><p><b>What you will be doing?</b></p><p><b>Core Estimating & Technical Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Develop detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure piping systems with minimal oversight.</li><li>Analyze project specifications, drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, and 3D models to quantify piping materials, valves, fittings, supports, insulation, and specialty components.</li><li>Perform engineering-based calculations related to pipe sizing, system layouts, and constructability.</li><li>Estimate labor, equipment, installation, and indirect costs based on project scope.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Proposal Development & Post-Bid Support</b></p><ul><li>Contribute to proposal and bid package development, including scope definitions, assumptions, clarifications, and material buy lists.</li><li>Provide knowledgeable, professional support to internal and external customers regarding designs, estimates, materials, products, schedules, and project-specific questions.</li><li>Support post-bid activities by assisting with final material lists and handoff documentation.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Estimation Review & Team Support</b></p><ul><li>Review estimates and documentation produced by team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GF and industry standards.</li><li>Support team members with all aspects of the estimating process.</li><li>Identify project risks, constructability challenges, and value-engineering opportunities during the estimating phase.</li><li>Support continuous improvement by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and process efficiencies.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Documentation & Professional Development</b></p><ul><li>Maintain all required documentation in accordance with GF quality and record-keeping standards.</li><li>Demonstrate strong organizational skills, punctuality, and active participation in team meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives.</li><li>Pursue continuous learning and proactive involvement in business and industry initiatives to expand technical knowledge across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure piping systems.</li><li>Proactively work with leadership to support personal development, career growth, and broader business initiatives.</li><li>Seek opportunities to contribute to business success through proactive involvement in team, business, and industry initiatives.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What will you need?</b></p><ul><li>Requires an AA degree (or equivalent) in a field relating to: construction management, engineering, architecture, drafting, MEP systems.
