Insurance Programs & Regulatory Counsel - P&C Insurance [Hybrid] We are representing a leading Property & Casualty insurance services company and MGA seeking a mid-level legal professional to support MGA/program business and regulatory initiatives, reporting to senior legal leadership. This role sits within a lean in-house legal team and will play a key role in supporting program, compliance, and operational legal needs across the business. This position is well suited for a candidate with hands-on experience in P&C insurance programs, strong regulatory instincts, and the ability to operate independently on research-heavy matters. Role & Responsibilities: MGA / Program & Distribution Support Drafting and negotiating program administrator, carrier, and distribution agreements Supporting MGA/MGU structures, authority grants, and underwriting frameworks Advising on commission structures, profit-sharing, and termination provisions Regulatory, Licensing & Compliance Conducting 50-state research on insurance regulatory requirements Advising on producer, adjuster, MGA, and TPA licensing and compliance Supporting filings, approvals, and ongoing compliance across jurisdictions Research & Legal Operations Support Leading complex, multi-jurisdictional research projects with minimal oversight Translating regulatory requirements into practical business guidance Supporting internal stakeholders across underwriting, compliance, and operations Strategic Business Advisory Partnering with business teams to ensure programs remain compliant and scalable Providing clear, actionable legal guidance in a fast-moving environment Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable): Juris Doctor & Bar Admission (U.S.) 3-5+ years of experience within the P&C insurance industry (in-house or law firm) Direct experience with insurance programs, MGA/agency agreements, and/or regulatory compliance Working knowledge of insurance licensing frameworks (producer, adjuster, MGA, TPA) Strong legal research and analytical capabilities ** Due diligence or M&A exposure is a plus Preferred Background: Prior experience supporting MGA or program business (carrier, MGA, or agency side) Comfortable operating in a lean legal environment with limited support resources Job Specifications: Salary: $225-250k base + bonus + benefits Work Mode: Hybrid [4 days in office, 1 day remote] Location: NYC Office
