Mobile Sr. Fleet Technician

Overview: The Senior Fleet Technician's primary purpose will require the individual to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, forklifts, tankers, and trailers.

Reporting Location: Hanahan, SC

Compensation: $36.00- $40.00 / hour + 6% or 8% shift differential applicable to hours worked

Sign on Bonus: $3,000 (payable after 90 days of successful employment)

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Saturdays dependent on business needs)

Start Time: 2 pm until workload completed

Responsibilities: Skills Required:

  • Troubleshoot and repair fleet vehicles and equipment to include planned preventive maintenance, warranty repair, and other scheduled services
  • Program and record all repair work in Trimble TMT electronic maintenance system and on company PM Cards
  • Electronically bill out parts in Trimble TMT Fleet software or company proprietary systems
  • Ensure planned preventive maintenance, warranty repair, and other scheduled services are completed daily
  • Assist in education of the Route Sales Representatives’ pre and post-trip inspections
  • Adhere to all department policies and procedures; track all required documentation
  • Maintain work area ensuring organization and cleanliness
  • Ensure company safe work practices are always followed
  • Oversee Fleet Technicians and provide direction as assigned by Lead Technician
  • Help schedule and support all work within the shop, including trainings
  • Ensure DOT and Safety, Health, and Environmental compliance standards are met
Qualifications: Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years hands-on experience in commercial fleet repair (gas, diesel or propane accepted)
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Accredited vocational / trade school certification preferred
  • Ability to handle physical requirements, including, but not limited to, repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds in all work conditions (indoor and outdoor), with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to secure and maintain a CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement within specified period
  • Ability to secure and maintain T4 (airbrake) certification within specified period
  • Must possess mechanic hand-tools and toolbox for secure storage
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently without direct supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, Electronic Diagnostic Tools, and Electronic Maintenance Database applications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
