Outside Sales Representative – Northeast US Territory

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven sales professional with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, preferably within the metals industry. This role focuses on cultivating and expanding relationships with new and existing customers throughout the Northeast U.S. territory. The position is home-office-based and requires extensive travel within the territory, as well as periodic visits to our headquarters in Columbia, SC.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Acquisition and Retention: Develop and execute strategies to identify and engage new clients while nurturing and expanding relationships with existing customers.

Sales Execution: Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring a high conversion rate by effectively addressing customer needs and demonstrating alimex’s product advantages.

Territory Management: Proactively manage the Northeast U.S. sales territory, including planning travel schedules, managing leads, and meeting sales quotas.

Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to position alimex as the premier choice for aluminum cast plate solutions.

Product Demonstrations and Proposals: Deliver compelling presentations showcasing alimex products and solutions, negotiate terms, and finalize contracts.

Customer Support: Serve as a liaison to ensure customer satisfaction by addressing issues promptly and coordinating with internal teams as needed.

Reporting and CRM Utilization: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and performance metrics within the company’s CRM system.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; metals industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of successful outside sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive, technical environment.
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and general technology applications.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Northeast U.S. territory by car and air.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (e.g., product samples or equipment).
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor during prolonged periods of travel and desk-based work.
