Platform Engineer - Clearance Required

<h2>Overview</h2> <p>LMI is seeking an experienced<strong> Platform Engineer with a minimum of an active SECRET clearance</strong> and minimum 3-years of demonstrated experience to support the United States Army. This role involves working directly with US Army and US Government mission partners, as well as other contracting partners, to develop-deploy-maintain cloud-based and on-prem digital & software solutions for the Warfighter. <strong>This position can be performed remotely.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>The ideal candidate is adept at applying platform principles in modern software environments, with strong understanding of software integration/testing, and strong familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD practices, and cloud-native architectures. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p>· Design, deploy, and manage the logical infrastructure that applications will run on (Platform as a Service – PaaS).</p> <p>· Ensure all new software functions smoothly across various programs and platforms, including mobile systems.</p> <p>· Automate the testing, deployment and configuration management processes.</p> <p>· Maintain the underlying infrastructure including hardware, software, and storage resources to ensure the infrastructure’s reliability, scalability, and security.</p> <p>· Maintain the overall health and stability of the PaaS and the applications that run on it.</p> <p>· Configure and deploy containerized applications using Docker & Kubernetes.</p> <p>· Write original code and update existing code, ensuring that all code meets program requirements.</p> <p>· Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and function as intended.</p> <p>· Update and debug existing systems to ensure a smooth user experience and a uniform look across a variety of platforms.</p> <p>· Optimize new and existing programs for mobile use, including smartphones and tablets.</p> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>· Minimum of an active SECRET clearance</p> <p>· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related technical field</p> <p>· Minimum of 3-year’s experience planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software applications for an enterprise level system.</p> <p>· Previous government technology experience</p> <p>· Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.</p> <p>· Experience architecting and developing software/infrastructure for scalable, secure, and distributed systems on Hybrid or Multi-cloud environments.</p> <p>· Experience using GitLab for CI/CD and automated deployments.</p> <p>· Experience with Terraform, Ansible playbooks, and/or Linux automation scripts</p> <p>· Experience with rudimentary APIs or automation scripts to interact with existing APIs.</p> <p>· Competency with at least one software development programming languages (Python, Java, GO).</p> <p>· Strong familiarity using Linux toolsets to support and analyze network related topics and issues.</p> <p>· Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).</p> <p>· Experience managing, administrating, configuring, deploying, and maintaining environments and system integration tools, including Kubernetes, Rancher, Helm, & Grafana.</p> <p>· Knowledge of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics at the container level with APM or other tools, including Splunk, ELK, and Prometheus.</p> <p>· Knowledge of IDAM requirements and technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, and/or OIDC.</p> <p>· DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (SEC+ or other)</p> <p>· Experience with Agile development methodologies and working with Agile teams.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>· Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field</p> <p>· Knowledge of the Army software development process and its technologies</p> <p>· Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification</p> <p>· Experience and/or understanding of US Army processes, business systems, and command and control policies and procedures.</p> <p>· AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Developer Associate certification</p> <p> </p> <p>Target salary range:</p> <p> </p> <p><strong><em>Disclaimer: </em></strong>$103,784 - $179,659</p> <p> </p> <p>The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
