Process Supervisor - Cross Dock - Mid Shift

The Process Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing operational workflow within a cross-dock environment, including dock, yard, and gate operations. This role ensures the timely and accurate movement of freight while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The Process Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and oversight to hourly employees, ensuring adherence to Aspire XDock SOPs and customer expectations. This position is accountable for shift execution, employee performance, and overall operational outcomes.

This is a salaried, exempt leadership position. The primary duty of this role is the management of employees and operational processes, including directing work, monitoring performance, and ensuring operational goals are achieved.

Work may be performed in both warehouse and outdoor yard environments and may require transitioning between dock, yard, and guard station responsibilities throughout the shift.

Pay: starting at $60,000

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Mid Shift 3:30 pm - 12:30 am

  • Expected to work extended hours, variable shifts, and weekends as needed
  • Schedule is based on business needs, not limited to a set number of hour

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises 2 or more hourly employees including forklift operators, yard control clerks, and hostlers
  • Assigns and directs daily work activities
  • Monitors employee performance and productivity
  • Provides coaching, training, and performance feedback
  • Participates in hiring, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions
  • Enforces company policies, safety standards, and attendance requirements
  • Responsible for shift-level performance, safety, and operational outcomes

Duties:

  • Oversee daily dock operations and freight movement in a fast-paced cross dock environment
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Direct and manage shift performance, including safety, productivity, and quality metrics
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform quality checks to verify freight is sorted and staged
  • Manage resolution of “problem solve” pallets using an internal system and processes
  • Ensure outbound loads meet SOP requirements and document with photos
  • Report Inbound load quality issues using internal forms and documentation
  • Coordinate yard operations, including trailer movement, staging, and dock door assignments
  • Ensure completion of yard audits using Yard Management System (YMS)
  • Monitor yard flow to ensure efficient movement of inbound and outbound trailers
  • Train and develop employees in operational procedures and safety protocols
  • Ensure coverage of forklift and hostler functions; may operate equipment as needed to support operations

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Previous warehouse or cross dock experience
  • Experience with yard operations or gate/guard shack processes
  • Hostler (yard truck) experience preferred, or willingness to be trained
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and communication skills

Qualifications and Education Requirements :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Ability to obtain and maintain hostler (yard truck) certification
  • Valid driver’s license
