Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. What you will do:

  • Align and secure engine components according to work instructions
  • Install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components
  • Ensure parts and materials used in assembly are defect-free
  • Assist in problem-solving and improvement initiatives across departments
  • Verify alignment of engine components using schematics and part prints
  • Inspect parts and materials for quality defects
  • Conduct audits and quality inspections to address known defects
  • Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspections on engines
  • Submit and support resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and area-specific instructions
  • Provide process information to supervisors and managers
  • Occasionally participate in training and development
  • Perform any other assigned duties
What you will have:
  • Minimum of 2 months' experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certification
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
  • General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures
What would make you a top candidate:
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting part prints and/or schematics
  • Previous experience assembling engines, engine components, and/or generators
  • Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:
  • Starting Payrate $18.50/hr
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am-3:30pm.
