Additionally, the Reporting and Compliance Specialist devises work policies and standards for compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations in the funding of programs, projects and initiatives of the Housing and Revitalization Department (HRD). The position requires the application of specialized knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for effective program and project reviews, performance evaluation and conformance activities based on contractual and financial parameters established for each initiative, including those under the Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Michigan State Housing and Development Agency and philanthropic organizations. The Reporting and Compliance Specialist also advises Executive Management and provides training and technical assistance to agency staff and partners to guide broader policy development for the successful implementation of the departmental mission and goals.<br><br> <strong>Examples of Duties</strong><br>HUD Consolidated Plan<br><ul><li>Research, analyze, and summarize data-driven information in the development of the Consolidated Plan (24 CFR part 91). </li><li>Provide assessment of community development needs and housing market conditions; ensure compliance with all federal regulations and guidelines during the process of the development of the Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan and CAPER, including all amendments (CFR part 91.105).</li><li>Assist with submitting documents and reports online and in newspapers; update citizens with new or annual funding.</li><li>Provide and distribute notifications including flyers, surveys, federal funding updates, public hearings, webinars and amendments to the public, via email and/or physical distribution. </li><li>Monitor and address citizens' comments from the Consolidated Plan email.</li><li>Coordinate and conduct public hearings for the Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan and CAPER;
