Program Manager, Mission Autonomy, Active Clearance

Description:

  • Own the end-to-end scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and execution of the Mission Autonomy IRAD roadmap.
  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of simulation, software-in-the-loop, and hardware-in-the-loop test environments and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate real-world flight testing with Test & Evaluation teams to ensure software is validated before live flight.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, chief engineering, program management, business operations, and finance teams to achieve IRAD objectives.
  • Develop technical fluency in vehicle systems to facilitate architectural discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and drive team consensus.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk, and remove administrative and logistical blockers for the engineering team.
  • Manage capture efforts by identifying opportunities, assessing viability, developing win strategies, and supporting proposals.
  • Provide data-driven status updates, risk assessments, and flight-test debriefs to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support the integration, testing, and operationalization of next-generation mission autonomy software onto airframes.

Requirements:

  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance is required; TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of technical program management, product management, or engineering leadership experience in aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment as a self-starter.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-50% to operations sites and test ranges.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.
  • Experience with autonomous command and control (C2), collaborative autonomy, or AI/ML-driven decision-making systems is preferred.
  • Direct hands-on experience planning, executing, and analyzing flight tests for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), ideally Group 3, 4, or 5 platforms, is preferred.
  • Experience as a rated pilot or UAS operator (Group 3-5) is a significant plus.
