Job Description:

 

We are seeking a Rocket Motor Quality Technician Specialist to join our team in Culpeper, VA.

 

This position supports Defense propulsion manufacturing programs and is an exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level. Individuals in this role will gain exposure to some very specialized and unique manufacturing processes in the Aerospace industry. This position is 1st shift (7:30 am to 5:00 pm) and follows a 9/80 schedule. This Job may be filled at this or one level lower.

 

Responsible for performing inspections, tests, analyses and/or audits of highly complex developmental products or processes to include microelectronics, precision mechanical, software, test equipment and fully integrated systems to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements. Assists in development and inspection of complex rework and repair of deliverable subassemblies and large system level integrated platforms. Approves production records for conformance to procedures. Responsible for ensuring safety, reliability and hardware traceability for end-item systems and mission solutions through production quality oversight. Collaborates with quality engineers in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans. Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quality engineers to make recommendations on process improvements. Routinely interfaces with customer representatives.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Performs detailed review of documentation including FAI’s, engineering drawing requirements and conformance to precise specifications.
  • Performs review of key product/process characteristics per contractual requirements.
  • Verifies sampling plans, COC’s, material certifications and part revision levels.
  • Use established guidelines and quality assurance provisions to insure compliance.
  • Communicates quality requirement deficiencies and documentation concerns to the appropriate quality support (QE / SQE) team.
  • Interacts with Receiving Inspection (RI), Supplier Quality, Program Quality and Procurement as necessary.
  • Review, incorporate, and sign-off on planning documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 year’s post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. 
  • Four years or more experience in a technical environment related to required skill sets, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Four years or more experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Detail-oriented, experienced in conducting root cause analysis and recommending data-driven corrective actions.
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience working on classified government programs
  • Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully to drive tasks to closure to support customer commitments and business objectives.
