Job Duties

Under broad direction, plans and manages assigned real estate and infrastructure projects.  Particular focus on coastal engineering and offshore island/causeway construction, but including design, construction, renovation, or replacement of company office, laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, service center, and site infrastructure facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects located mostly across the Middle East and North Africa. Travel throughout these locations is required on a frequency suitable to the size and scope of the project.
  • Reports to and receives guidance from the Regional Design & Construction Manager and will be part of a small but efficient and high performing team.
  • Determines, in consultation with Real Estate Services and business unit management, the definition and requirements for each assigned project -- including location, desired results, desired completion date, allowable cost parameters, funding sources, RES and business unit interfaces, and special environmental or regulatory considerations.
  • Initiates value engineering and design optimisations of the requirements ensuring optimal use of space and costs.
  • Prepares and seeks appropriate management approvals of project plan including work specification, schedule, and budget.
  • Plans and manages project execution in accordance with project plan.
  • Monitors and manages project schedule in accordance with project plan
  • Makes mid-course corrections to project schedule
  • Advises Real Estate Services management and internal customers of schedule status, and seeks approval of schedule changes when required.
  • Monitors and manages project budget and contractor payments in accordance with project plan. Initiates and seeks appropriate management approval of budget change orders when required
  • Evaluates design and construction methods. Selects best standard methods for project execution. Makes appropriate adjustments to standards to meet specific project requirements.
  • Manages project compliance with applicable building and fire codes, other applicable laws and regulations, and company Health, Safety, and Environment policy.
  • Manages project compliance with company and Real Estate Services quality standards.
  • Manages consultants, and contractors, as applicable, for execution and administration of Real Estate Services project activities and for execution of specific projects.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in Project or Construction management essential.
  • Registered with PMI or equivalent preferred
  • Degrees in Architecture, Quantity Surveying and Engineering considered provided there is practical project management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working for a project management consultancy company or construction company.
  • Experience in delivering Liquid Mud Plants or similar plant type projects comprising storage tanks, interconnecting pipework, pumps and associated items highly beneficial
  • Self-motivated, results driven and able to work independently to deliver projects.
  • Willing and able to work under high pressure environment with short turn around times managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Competent in MS Projects and SAP with knowledge of Autocad beneficial
  • Submit project profiles for the last three projects completed
