[Remote] AVS (Azure VMware Solution) Technical Architect

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Galactic Minds INC is seeking an AVS Technical Architect with expertise in VMware and Azure networking. This role involves planning and guiding complex infrastructure deployments and migrations for large enterprise customers, ensuring successful design and deployment of AVS solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with program managers and service delivery teams to plan, architect, and guide complex infrastructure deployments and migrations for large enterprise customers, moving them from on-premises VMware environments to AVS
  • Work directly with customer application, infrastructure, and security stakeholders to define requirements, strategy, and processes for successful design, deployment, and migration
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Azure/AVS and VMware products to propose solutions and act as a subject matter trainer for other specialists
  • Share knowledge through solution documents, technical communities, automated self-help solutions, and training programs

Skills

  • AVS (Azure VMware Solution) architecture-level expertise – deep understanding of design and enterprise-scale deployment
  • VMware NSX-T – hands-on architecture and design experience
  • VSAN architecture – in-depth knowledge for enterprise deployment
  • HCX (Hybrid Cloud Extension) Advanced/Enterprise features – for migration and hybrid setups
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) – for disaster recovery and replication design
  • Azure networking for AVS – advanced expertise in: ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual WAN, Azure Route Server
  • Datacenter architecture & platform design – enterprise migration planning and large-scale infrastructure design
  • 13+ years of IT experience
  • Minimum 3 years on Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
  • 5+ years on VMware vSphere, Azure cloud services deployments, and cloud migrations
  • Experience architecting and designing datacenter and cloud infrastructures using VMware and Microsoft technologies
  • Strong knowledge of VMware Core Cloud Infrastructure: Required: VMware vSphere 6.0+, VMware NSX-T (edge services, implementation, migration from VLAN/NSX-v), VMware vSAN, VMware HCX Advanced & Enterprise
  • Experience with on-premises-to-cloud or cloud-to-cloud migrations using VMware HCX
  • Experience with relevant Azure technologies: Required: Azure ExpressRoute, Azure VPN, Azure Virtual WAN, Azure Route Server, Azure networking
  • Understanding of cloud management systems and solutions
  • Strong platform architecture knowledge: hardware platforms, hypervisors, networking, security, data protection, high availability, monitoring, patching
  • Familiarity with security & compliance standards across enterprise IT environments
  • Azure hosting or infrastructure experience and public cloud knowledge is highly desired
  • Knowledge of datacenter networking fabric topologies (Layer 2 & Layer 3)
  • BS or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or technology-focused discipline, or equivalent experience
  • VMware Site Recovery Manager & vSphere Replication
  • VMware management suite (vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI)
  • Azure Disk Pools
