[Remote] Forward Deployment Engineer- Greater NYC

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SingleStore is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to operate at the intersection of solution architecture, technical delivery, and customer partnership. This role combines elements of a solutions architect, technical account manager, and solution engineer, with a strong emphasis on execution.


Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with customers to understand their architecture, use cases, and business goals, and translate them into scalable technical solutions
  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions integrating SingleStore into existing application and data ecosystems
  • Lead whiteboard sessions to shape ideas, define architecture, and convert concepts into technical specifications and execution plans
  • Act as a proactive thought partner, bringing ideas and guiding conversations rather than reacting to requirements
  • Own delivery of high-impact initiatives from concept through production, ensuring successful outcomes
  • Provide hands-on support, including troubleshooting, optimization, and applying pragmatic solutions or fixes when needed
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Engineering teams to align customer needs with product capabilities and roadmap
  • Help customers prioritize and operationalize their data initiatives, balancing ambition with practical delivery
  • Feed insights from customer engagements back into Product and Engineering to influence roadmap and improvements

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, solution engineering, or technical consulting (pre-sales and/or post-sales)
  • Strong foundation in databases, distributed systems, or software engineering
  • Proven experience delivering production-grade solutions in customer-facing environments
  • Experience integrating complex systems across data pipelines, applications, and infrastructure
  • Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical plans and drive execution
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical innovation with pragmatic delivery and realistic scoping
  • Alignment with product capabilities and roadmap, ensuring solutions are both impactful and feasible
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, particularly in financial services or high-tech environments, is highly preferred
