Remote Medical Secretary
- *About Us**
We are expanding our administrative team to meet growing demand, and are looking for experienced and confident applicants for this role.
- *The Role**
This role involves call handling (speaking with existing patients and answering new enquiries) and a range of standard office administration work. Full training in our own processes is provided.
Regular performance-based bonuses are uncapped, achievable and can form a significant addition to your salary.
Several positions available; we are a leading private psychiatric service provider, and you will join a team of admin staff working in a busy and friendly environment (everybody is expected to help each other and create a positive work environment).
Successful applicants will be invited for a short trial period starting with around 10 hours per week, with rapid progression up to full-time for suitable candidates.

As you will work independently (with remote supervision), only self-disciplined, highly reliable, well organised and conscientious individuals should apply.
- *Main tasks
- Work from home (a PC/laptop and internet connection are expected from the very start)
- Answer telephone / email / live-chat enquiries (training provided)
- Maintain the clinic diary / correspondence / etc
- Carry out other duties relating to customer service for both clients and practitioners as required, including taking card payments, usually over the phone (training provided)
- *Job Requirements
The main requirements of this job are
- You will work from home, so will need a reliable internet connection and access to a PC/laptop, as well as a quiet space to work and handle calls
- Excellent communication skills (mainly telephone and email)
- General computer literacy is expected
- You will communicate with patients seeking psychiatric help, hence you will be required to have very high levels of discretion and patience, as well as a very respectful attitude
- You must be flexible, ready to learn new skills, and a team worker (this is an absolute requirement!)
- Trial / full training is provided at the start of the probation period, usually 4 months.
- You must be willing to learn new skills such as: how to communicate with our patients, using our online diary and appointment booking systems, the client database, and other similar systems.
- Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
- Previous experience as a practice manager, team leader, office manager, call handler, medical secretary, sales, or higher education is desirable but not essential

- *Working Shifts**
- Weekdays 08:00 – 20:00
- Weekends: 09:00 – 17:00
- It is important to be available to cover shifts during weekends and at the busiest time periods during weekdays such as 8am to 11am, and 5pm to 8 pm.*
While on a shift, you actively communicate with other admin staff, sharing the workload and helping each other. This is a busy and demanding role, and full co-operation of all colleagues is expected.
There will be regular and frequent communication/supervision/training with line managers via video calls.
You are strongly encouraged to excel in your tasks, and to lead others.
