Job Title: SAP Basis Architect / SAP Global Support Manager (Remote)
Location: Open to Nationwide Candidates
Duration: 12 Months
Must be eligible for security clearance.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Architect / SAP Global Support Manager to support enterprise SAP environments within a large-scale public sector environment. This role will focus on SAP Basis administration, infrastructure architecture, system upgrades, enhancement packs, performance tuning, and ongoing SAP platform support across complex multi-system landscapes.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Basis administration, SAP architecture, Windows Server environments, SQL databases, SAP NetWeaver technologies, and public sector SAP implementations.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Architecture & Solution Design

  • Provide SAP Basis and infrastructure architecture guidance
  • Develop implementation and maintenance strategies, procedures, and best practices
  • Assist with hardware specifications and SAP landscape planning
  • Create high-level implementation roadmaps for SAP solutions
  • Support development and execution of testing plans for SAP environments
  • Evaluate and implement SAP solution enhancements and new technologies

SAP Basis Administration

  • Perform SAP software installation, configuration, upgrades, and support pack implementation
  • Administer SAP ECC, SRM, BW, PI, Solution Manager, Fiori, and Business Objects environments
  • Manage SAP client copies, system refreshes, transports, and multi-landscape environments
  • Configure and maintain SAP profile parameters and background jobs
  • Perform workload analysis, system health checks, and troubleshooting
  • Analyze and optimize SAP and database performance
  • Establish OSS and EarlyWatch connections
  • Support system monitoring, tuning, and operational stability

Infrastructure & Database Support

  • Support SAP environments running on:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2012–2025
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2014–2019
    • VMware virtualization platforms
  • Optimize disk layouts, file systems, OS performance, and database operations
  • Troubleshoot SAP infrastructure and system performance issues

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Basis teams and cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate with application development, functional, integration, and release management teams
  • Participate in technical projects across multiple environments
  • Research and engineer new SAP and third-party technology solutions

Documentation & Training

  • Create technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Deliver peer coaching, mentoring, and classroom-style instruction
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical updates to stakeholders

SAP Environment

The SAP landscape includes:

  • SAP ECC 6.0 – EHP8 on NetWeaver 7.5
  • SAP SRM 7.04
  • SAP BW 7.5
  • SAP PI 7.5
  • SAP Solution Manager 7.2
  • SAP Fiori Launchpad & Gateway
  • SAP Business Objects 4.3

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of SAP Basis administration and solution architecture experience
  • 10+ years of experience with:
    • SAP ABAP/Java software installation and configuration
    • SAP upgrades and enhancement packs
    • OSS Notes and Support Packs
    • SAP troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • 5+ years of experience with SAP NetWeaver technologies
  • 5+ years of SAP Public Sector experience
  • Strong experience with:
    • Windows Server 2012–2025
    • SQL Server 2014–2019
    • VMware virtualization
    • Multi-system SAP landscapes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting:
    • SAP ECC 6.0
    • SAP SRM 7.04
    • SAP BW 7.5
    • SAP Fiori Gateway
  • SAP architecture and infrastructure design experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with third-party SAP integrations such as:
    • Vertex
    • BSI
    • Adobe Forms
    • Nakisa
    • Business Objects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and Project
