Reporter Producer, White House [Remote]

<p> ..<br /> CNN is seeking a multi-talented and resourceful journalist with the ability to break news and a keen interest in and understanding of politics and government to join our White House reporting team.<br /> The job will demand reporting and producing in a high-pressure environment, as well as conceptualizing digital videos and utilizing other innovative storytelling formats to deliver news coverage and scoops regarding the president and his administration. It will also require significant organizational and coordination skills to help keep our team on top of the president's demanding schedule such that we meet the demands that come with a 24-7 TV and digital news operation. One hour, you might be rapidly writing breaking news posts and asking questions of White House spokespeople; the next, you might be identifying critical moments from a foreign leader meeting for a vertical video. You will also have to produce live shots, coordinate with photojournalists and manage requests from show producers.<br /> The ideal candidate will be creative and unfailingly collegial, with a demonstrated track record of reporting and writing under deadline and delivering copy cleanly and rapidly. Being able to conceptualize, shoot and edit video is also key.<br /> The position requires significant and regular collaboration with White House teammates and reporters from other beats.<br /> Your Role Accountabilities…<br /> • Reports, research, writes and own all stages of assigned stories from short Live Story posts to fully formed published stories and everything in between across all platforms<br /> • Conceptualizes and help produce digital videos for multiple platforms and work with others to utilize innovative storytelling formats<br /> • Utilize strong editorial judgment to quickly and effectively frame and headline news items for maximum impact<br /> • Develop sourcing of government officials and external players, both for reporting and logistical matters<br /> • Advise editors and planning teams on key storylines and events for coverage consideration<br /> • Be responsible for writing stories/alerts/Live story posts as assigned by editor<br /> • Produce live segments, both in the field, studio or from remote network locations<br /> • Provide editorial coverage for pool responsibilities, and assist with TV crew for network coverage needs<br /> • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in pursuing breaking news stories and delivering updates in real-time<br /> • May be deployed on field assignments to enhance breaking news coverage or to pursue distinctive storylines<br /> • Monitor the competitive landscape and multiple sources for news developments<br /> <br /> Qualifications & Experience…<br /> • Typically has 3 or more years of related experience.<br /> • College degree or equivalent industry experience<br /> <br /> Championing Inclusion at WBD<br /> Warner Bros. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $63,000.00 - $117,000.00 salary per year.
